Well, what can I say?! Exams are done, the break has started, and I’m sitting at home being a hermit! My second last semester has now come to a close and here are some of the highlights:

  1. 1) Getting paid to shoot a volleyball game – http://www.danielyu.com/acalvball09
  2. 2) Raising $100 and for Daneille to do something embarrassing J
  3. 3) Road trips with the futsal team

Time has definitely flown by as I am getting closer to graduation! It is definitely a bitter sweet feeling. I definitely want to move on, yet I am definitely going to miss everything that being a college life brings!

Enough of school for now though. The weather has changed and we are getting lots of snow! This means we are going to have a white Christmas! I am definitely excited. I hate it when there is no snow and all you see is dead grass outside. As Christmas is fast approaching, I’ve been thinking about the reason why we celebrate it. Sure we joke that Santa is coming and confine ourselves to the sport of jostling in the malls with other insane customers, but, as a Christian, I need to remind myself why we take the time to pause from our daily routines and remember the real reason for this time of year. I was at Centre Street Church on Sunday and Pastor Storm puts it this way: “If God approached Jesus and said, I need you to become man and save the world. Jesus’ reply? I’m already there!” Storm’s perspective on Christmas should be the main reason why we should celebrate. Without this act, there will be no Christmas our salvation for that matter.

Anyways, back to being a hermit. Merry Christmas to all of you!

2am!

Listening to: Krystal Meyers - The Beauty of Grace

Well, its 2am and here I am writing a paper due tomorrow. Why I do this? I don't know ... I guess its the overall experience of staying up late and being at University! However, it is my last assignment of this semester and I have 12 hours to finish! I am glad this class doesn't begin till 2pm tomorrow afternoon. But one thing's for sure, I definitely have the motivation to finish the paper now! Looking back it was probably wiser to have started it Sunday, but I decided to bake cookies instead! :D

I think you will agree.. this is much better than paper writing!

Ok my break is over... back to paper writing! Remember, procrastination produces results! Please don't quote me ;)

Listening to: the wind gusting as the snow is falling :)

SNOOOOOOWWW! Wow it is finally here! Yes, I am one of those odd types you love to hate. But snow means Christmas is almost here! Anyways, what an eventful couple of weeks! The end of the semester is quickly approaching, and the assignments, projects, presentations are piling up! Ah well, I think I got them all under wraps, so I’m not too worried.
Well, I’m going to get to something more exciting. I made the newspaper the Calgary Herald the other day! Here is the letter I wrote:

Re: Snow wrecking havok on Calgary Streets.
My usual drive home from school usually takes me no longer then 30 minutes. Tonight, it took me nearly 3 hours to get home. Although the drive was long, I noticed many great things about the citizens of Calgary. The thing that struck me most was the number of people out there helping people get unstuck or pushing cars up icy streets. It was obvious that some of these individuals out there had been doing so for hours at the expense of their own time and safety. Some might say Calgary has lost some of its good citizens, but I don't believe it. Thank you to all those out there that took their time to help commuters! It is great to see that Calgary still has wonderful citizens.

I think it is time for a rant though.. there is nothing I hate more than people whining about the lack of plows on city streets. This happens EVERY year when the first snowfall comes. How are the plows going to get anywhere when the streets are like a giant moving parking lot? Complain when you invent plows that can drive through cars, then you can. Ok enough of that, but seriously!

Here are some pictures!!!

Well, if you have been reading my previous posts, I was taking pictures of the ACAL Volleyball finals that were held here at Ambrose. Altogether, my friend and I took around 4500 pictures! It was a crazy experience to shoot these pictures. In terms of results, our ladies won bronze, playing 3 exciting and nailbiting games en route to the medal Our guys won silver in a final that featured the top two volleyball teams in the ACAL.

Well, that is all for now. I think I am going to be stuck at school while waiting out this snow storm. Thankfully I brought my sleeping bag along with me today!

Still listening to.... Owl City

Yes! I finally get to use my Nikon d90 with 50mm f1.8 and get paid for it too! What makes it even better is the opportunity to cheer Ambrose's volleyball teams on as they go for gold! Attending sporting events is definitely one of the funnest experiences. Fans are loud and are often the extra man behind the teams! I'm really excited and finding it hard to sleep! :/ I should try though.. can't be taking naps midgame!

Here are two of my shots! :)

Enjoy and good night! :P
